SANTA MONICA PIER

This iconic pier is home to a huge number of attractions. Access to the pier is free, and the space features many free and low-cost activities. Santa Monica Pier contains Pacific Park, an amusement park where rides are priced from $5 to $10. The Santa Monica Pier Aquarium is another fun place to visit, with adult admission of just $5 and free admission for children under the age of 12. During the summer months, one can enjoy a series of twilight concerts at the pier, which are free.

THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

Visiting the Hollywood Walk of Fame is completely free. As far as things to do in LA, the Walk of Fame is a must-see attraction. The entire Walk of Fame runs a little over a mile, from east to west. Endless photo opportunities abound with hundreds of stars bearing the names of famous actors, musicians, and other notable celebrities. In total, the sidewalk contains over 2,600 stars. Combining tributes to Hollywood stars, exercise, and some sightseeing along the 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard, the Walk of Fame can be a great activity for the entire family.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART

The LACMA boasts an impressive collection of 140,000 pieces of art, ranging over thousands of years of history. Admission for adults is $25 each, but children 17 and under can enjoy the museum at no cost. The museum also offers senior and student discounts. Although $25 might seem high for museum tickets, the sheer amount of exhibits, collections, and activities the LACMA holds makes it a worthwhile attraction that could keep the family enthralled for hours.
