Sea Life Park San Diego to Open New Dolphin Exhibit

SAN DIEGO, CA – Known as the “Entertainment Highlight of San Diego” in 2021, Sea Life Park is poised to open a stunning new exhibit – featuring dolphins. Although the park is famous for its orca shows, they hope to attract more visitors to the diversity and intelligence of dolphins.

“We really want to create an interactive experience that will bring more dolphin enthusiasts to Sea Life Park,” says Brett Falstaff, the exhibit’s architect and keeper. “Ultimately, this will be on par with the orca show and showcase what dolphins can do.”

The opening season of the show will feature three of the park’s star dolphins – Mimi, Blazer, and Sandy. It will feature individual performances and a trio number, in which the dolphins work together to move a ball through synchronized movement.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the show with a basic package, and upgrade to a deluxe if they want to feed the dolphins and interact with trainers. In addition, the park has plans to renovate the Clam Shell Grill, which has been closed since 2019, and transform it into a high-end dining experience next to the dolphin enclosure.

Falstaff continues, “We hope that with this exhibit, we can show our visitors that dolphins are just as fun and entertaining as orcas can be.”

The show, which has yet to be named, has a tentative opening date of April 15, 2022. Reservations are available online for basic and deluxe ticket packages.
